This exclusive story DLC is a full-length novella that tells the events leading up to the game’s iconic hole. Finally, you’ll learn why the property you move into was suspiciously cheap in the first place. Written by acclaimed German science-fiction author Ben Calvin Hary, whose unmistakable humor and storytelling style fit perfectly into the wonderfully bizarre world of A Game About Digging a Hole. ------ What’s included in this DLC? ✔ The official prequel to A Game About Digging a Hole ✔ Humor, absurdity, and the same chaotic vibe as the game ✔ A complete novella / short novel (PDF + interactive flipbook) ✔ The origin story of Monti & Drilbur—and why they show up again deep in the game ------ What’s this story about? A brand-new homeowner wants just one thing: a pet. A dog, maybe. Or a cat. What he gets instead: two moles. What follows is a chain reaction of questionable decisions, dubious animal diets, overly enthusiastic digging sessions, an ever-growing appetite (for both moles and owner), and a mysterious organization that seems to have waited far too long for exactly this moment. As strange tents appear in the backyard, neighbors suffer from sleep deprivation, and a hole emerges beneath your feet that gives geology the middle finger, one thing becomes clear: This isn’t a pet problem. This is the origin of a catastrophe.
