A remote mountain village in Japan. Ren Adler returns to a place he thought he had left behind after receiving a mysterious message. Something is wrong. People have disappeared. Familiar places no longer seem quite the same. Memories contradict reality. And somewhere among the abandoned rooms and forgotten records are cassette tapes containing voices that should never have been recorded. At the center of it all lies ECHO-0. A research project connected to Ren and neuroscientist Dr. Maya Kessler — an experiment created to explore the boundaries of human memory. But the deeper they investigate, the harder it becomes to answer one simple question: Can you trust a memory when reality itself says it never happened? 📼 LISTEN TO WHAT WAS LEFT BEHIND Throughout the village, you will discover mysterious cassette tapes connected to ECHO-0. Collect them. Listen carefully. Piece together fragmented recordings, conversations and traces of experiments that were never meant to be uncovered. Sometimes, what you hear will answer a question. Sometimes, it will create a much worse one. 🔎 INVESTIGATE A VILLAGE THAT DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT Explore the guesthouse, shrine, archives and other locations throughout an isolated Japanese mountain village. Examine photographs, documents, recordings and seemingly insignificant objects. Details matter. A room may not look the same when you return. An object may be somewhere it wasn't before. And someone may remember something completely differently than you do. 🧠 MEMORY IS NOT THE TRUTH Echoes of Memory is a psychological horror mystery built around uncertainty rather than constant jumpscares. Reality, memory and nightmare gradually begin to overlap as Ren and Maya uncover the truth behind ECHO-0. The question isn't only what happened.
