Bungie is exploring a sublease for its Bellevue headquarters after heavy layoffs
A commercial listing shows 210,984 rentable square feet available under a lease that runs through 2035
Bungie is exploring options to sublease most of its Bellevue, Washington headquarters after heavy layoffs, and a commercial listing shows 210,984 rentable square feet available under a lease that runs through 2035.
The studio confirmed it is looking to “sublease its campus” in a statement to The Game Post, which first spotted the listing. Bungie said, “The studio transitioned to a digital-first model several years ago, and this move reflects the team’s evolving workplace needs and the effectiveness of its remote collaboration.”
That shift, Bungie indicated, follows reductions in onsite headcount and a larger share of employees working remotely. The Game Post’s listing identifies the amount of rentable space and the lease term through 2035.
GamesRadar reported additional context, noting Bungie expanded into the building years earlier as part of a Pete Parsons-backed plan to become a multi-franchise studio. GamesRadar added that Parsons has left, his replacement has also departed, multiple incubation projects were culled, Destiny 2 was canceled, and Marathon has struggled to maintain an audience.
