Ludixa is free to read and paid for by advertising. That means some things do get stored on your device — but only the strictly necessary ones happen without asking you first. Everything else waits for the banner.
These cannot be switched off, because without them the site cannot do what you asked it to do. They set no profile and are never shared.
NEXT_LOCALE — cookie. Remembers which language version you are reading so you are not redirected away from it. Lasts one year.ludixa.consent — local storage. The record of the choice you made on this very banner: which categories you allowed and when. Kept until you clear it, because forgetting it would mean asking you again on every page.Self-hosted, first-party, and deliberately thin. It counts which pages are read, how long a visit lasts, how far down the page you scrolled and which site linked you here. There is no third-party analytics product involved and the data never leaves our own server.
mk_a_s — session storage, not a cookie and not local storage. A random session id that expires after 30 minutes of inactivity and is destroyed when you close the tab. It is what distinguishes “one person reading four pages” from “four people reading one page”.Your IP address is not stored. It is used once, in memory, to compute a daily one-way hash that cannot be reversed and that changes every day — so the same reader is not recognisable tomorrow. Search terms you type into the site are not recorded: the statistics know a search happened, not what you looked for.
Strictly speaking this category could rely on the exemption for first-party audience measurement. We ask anyway, because an exemption is a legal argument and a choice is a choice.
Ads come from Adsterra (AdsPro Ltd). This is the only category where a third party is involved, and it is the one that actually pays for the site.
contributionhobblenewlywed.com and from advertiser domains we do not control. We cannot list every vendor cookie by name, because the set changes with the campaigns being served — no publisher can honestly claim otherwise. What we can promise is the part under our control: if you refuse this category, no Adsterra script is inserted into the page at all. Not loaded and then blocked — never loaded. There is nothing to set, because nothing from them runs.
The banner appears before any non-necessary script exists on the page, and the code that would insert them is behind the same switch. Accept and Reject are the same button in two colours — refusing takes exactly one click, like accepting. There is no X to close, because closing without choosing is neither a yes nor a no.
If you withdraw a permission you had given, the page reloads. That is deliberate: a third-party script already running cannot be uninstalled by removing its tag, so a reload is the only way for “reject” to mean what it says.
The same link sits in the footer of every page. You can also clear cookies and site data from your browser settings, or block third-party cookies entirely — the site keeps working either way.
Sign-in will add a session cookie, strictly necessary for staying logged in. This page will say so before it happens, not after.
