3DMark Storage Benchmark

Benchmark your SSD With fast modern SSD storage, loading times are shorter, levels restart faster, and there are fewer interruptions to your gameplay. PC gamers can now choose from a wide range of high-performance storage options from the fastest PCI Express 4.0 and NVMe devices to cheaper SATA SSDs and high-capacity hybrid drives. The 3DMark Storage Benchmark DLC extends 3DMark with a dedicated component test for measuring the gaming performance of your storage hardware. It supports all the latest storage technologies and tests practical, real-world gaming performance for activities such as loading games, saving progress, installing game files, and recording gameplay video streams. 3DMark Storage Benchmark • Test your SSD with a benchmark designed for gamers. • Easy to use with tests based on real gaming activities. • Compare scores to find the best SSDs in your price range. • Supports all the latest, high-performance storage technologies. • Works with internal and external drives. 3DMark DirectStorage feature test Microsoft DirectStorage is a technology for systems using PCIe SSDs that reduces the overhead when loading game data. DirectStorage can be used to reduce game loading times when paired with other technologies such as GDeflate, where the GPU can be used to decompress certain game assets instead of the CPU. On Windows 11, DirectStorage also includes bypass IO, lowering a game’s CPU overhead by reducing the CPU workload when transferring data. The DirectStorage feature test demonstrates a near-best case scenario for using DirectStorage – where performance is not affected by variables such as the game’s asset management system, or the GPU working on other tasks typical in loading a game scene, like rending geometry. This lets you get an idea of the near-maximum potential performance benefits enabling DirectStorage could have for your system. The 3DMark DirectStorage feature test is included in the Storage Benchmark DLC.
