No. Jackie's death is written into the plot, not a state you can fail into or out of. He gets shot at Konpeki Plaza and bleeds out in the back of Delamain's cab, and it happens the same way regardless of how well the heist itself goes — there's no dialogue choice, no combat outcome and no mod-free workaround that keeps him alive.
What you do choose: where his body goes
Delamain asks where to take Jackie's remains, and this is the decision that actually branches later content.
- Send him to his family. Mama Welles holds a wake at El Coyote Cojo, part of the "Heroes" side gig that only unlocks this way. You pick something of Jackie's to leave as an offering, can bring Misty into the vigil, and sit through the funeral itself. The payoff is the biggest: you get Jackie's motorcycle and his signature pistol, La Chingona Dorada.
- Say nothing / ask Delamain to wait. This isn't really a third option — it resolves the same as sending him to his family, so you still get the wake and the Heroes gig.
- Send him to Viktor's clinic. This locks you out of the wake and the Heroes gig's full reward. Arasaka operatives take the body from Vik shortly after, and Mama Welles instead just mails you the motorcycle key — no pistol, no funeral. What you get instead is a bit of extra dialogue with Jackie mentioned in a later main-story mission with Takemura, which the family route doesn't have.
If you want the fuller send-off and the better reward, send Jackie home. The clinic route is faster but strictly smaller — it trades the wake and the gun for a few extra lines of dialogue down the road.
