Saudi fund is weighing a merger of Savvy Games Group and Electronic Arts, Bloomberg says
Bloomberg reports no final decision will be made until Savvy completes its $6 billion Moonton acquisition
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund is considering merging Savvy Games Group and Electronic Arts, Bloomberg reports, with any move contingent on Savvy completing its proposed $6 billion purchase of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang maker Moonton.
The report says no final decision will be taken until that Moonton deal closes. Savvy Games Group is controlled by the Public Investment Fund and has been an active acquirer in mobile and esports.
Savvy helped Scopely’s $4.9 billion acquisition in 2023 and supported Scopely when it bought Niantic’s games portfolio for $3.5 billion in 2025, bringing titles such as Pokémon Go, Monster Hunter Now and Pikmin Bloom into companies owned by Savvy’s backers.
The Public Investment Fund led a consortium that acquired Electronic Arts for $55 billion in 2025, taking the company private; EA’s portfolio includes EA FC, Madden, The Sims and Apex Legends. Savvy also owns the ESL Faceit Group and made a $1 billion investment in Embracer in 2022.
