Physint will be published by Xbox after Kojima Productions said PlayStation Studios unexpectedly notified it in mid-June 2026 that they would cancel the project, GamesIndustry.biz reported.
VGC reported PlayStation confirmed it had "decided to step away" from the title, and said Hideo Kojima has stated Sony attempted to cancel Physint. Kotaku and Pure Xbox also covered Microsoft moving in to take over publishing following the notice.
Eurogamer described Physint as an "action espionage" title and reported Kojima has made changes behind the scenes to the project.
