The Witcher 3 Remastered arrives on September 29, 2026, as a free upgrade for all owners, CD Projekt Red confirmed during Gamescom's Opening Night Live.
The Remastered edition bundles the game's first two expansions and will precede the studio's third expansion, Songs of the Past, which is scheduled for 2027.
New features and platform support
CD Projekt Red listed a long set of improvements coming to the Remastered version, including tweaked combat, improved traversal and movement, revamped mount handling, enhanced monster behaviours, a skill tree revamp, armour transmog, an expanded photo mode and new finishers.
Other additions noted by the developer include cross-platform mod support, new quest tracking, immersive meditation, refined animations, user interface improvements, a looting rework, refreshed motion blur, new accessibility features, a modernised tutorial, HDR improvements, a foliage shading rework, ray-tracing improvements, a global lighting rework, a new shading model, subsurface scattering and a new tone mapper.
Platform-specific mentions include PlayStation 5 Pro support, Xbox Play Anywhere compatibility and unspecified Nintendo Switch 2 "exclusive features." The announcement also named Nvidia DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4 and Intel XESS 2.0 as supported upscaling technologies.
