Onimusha: Way of the Sword sells over 1 million on launch day as series tops 10 million

Onimusha: Way of the Sword sold more than 1 million copies on launch day across PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, and the Onimusha series has now surpassed 10 million lifetime sales, VGC reports.

Capcom has also told VGC it plans to re-activate more of its dormant intellectual properties following the strong launch for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The publisher did not attach firm dates to those plans in the reporting.

Early reviews of the release praised its duels and combat while calling out uneven mission design and pacing in places, a mix reflected across multiple outlets that covered the game at launch.
